LANZBC AGM 2017 with guest speaker Siah Hwee Ang

Members are invited to attend the 2017 Annual General Meeting of the Latin America New Zealand Business Council Incorporated, which will be held at the offices of CBL Insurance, Tower One, Level 8, Shortland Centre, 51 Shortland Street, Auckland on Thursday 27 April 2017 at 5.30pm.
We are also delighted to announce that this year’s gathering will be enhanced by an event immediately afterwards: an informal talk on the do’s and don’t’s of engaging culturally unfamiliar markets from New Zealand’s leading expert on this subject, Professor Siah Hwee Ang.
Professor Ang is the inaugural BNZ Chair in Business in Asia, a position sponsored by the Bank of New Zealand, Victoria University of Wellington, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade, the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment, and New Zealand Trade and Enterprise. In this role, Siah works closely with stakeholders and companies on their strategies in Asia. Furthermore, he writes a weekly “Understanding China” column for interest.co.nz and a bi-weekly ‘Business in Asia’ column for Fairfax Media, and he is also the Senior Editor of the Journal of World Business, a top international business journal.
At a time when new Centres of Asia-Pacific Excellence are being established for Asia and Latin America we look forward to hearing his insights into lessons learnt from New Zealand businesses’ trade with Asia that could also drive growth in in Latin markets.
