Air New Zealand

Air New Zealand is an international and domestic airline group that provides air passenger and cargo transport services connecting customers to 22 destinations within New Zealand and to Australia, the Pacific Islands, China, Japan, North America and the United Kingdom. From December 2015, Air New Zealand has provided a direct service between Auckland and Buenos Aires, Argentina in a codeshare with Aerolineas Argentinas. Beyond the 29 international airports Air New Zealand services directly, it has a further extensive global network through several alliances notably Singapore Airlines, Cathay Pacific and Virgin Australia as well as other codeshare and Star Alliance links.

Air New Zealand’s extensive list of accolades includes the prestigious Air Transport World Airline of the Year award in both 2010 and 2012, the first time in the nearly 40 year history of the awards that an airline has achieved this twice in three years. The airline also encompasses business units providing engineering, aviation training, ground handling, gas turbines (marine) services. Subsidiaries extend to booking systems, travel wholesaling and retailing services.

Air New Zealand is renowned for its innovative approach to service and product design, including the revolutionary Economy Skycouch, the all black Boeing 777-300ER – the world’s largest commercially operated aircraft to be painted all black, and a number of creative themed safety videos which not only capture the attention of its customers onboard but have gone viral, collectively generating more than 30 million hits online. Air New Zealand is the launch customer for the new 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft, with three already in its fleet. The airline is a major sponsor of the All Blacks rugby team, the Department of Conservation and the Antarctica NZ Trust.
