Steve Dixon

STRACON

Steve joined the Board in May 2021. 

Since founding STRACON in early 2003, as a shareholder, CEO and executive director, Steve Dixon has led the successful growth and diversification of the Group, to become one of the leading providers of mining and construction services throughout the Americas, with annual sales of over US$400m. Steve is currently the Group Chairman.

Steve has led the establishment and management of operations in several jurisdictions globally, innovating the way in which services are provided. An example of such innovation was the introduction of ‘Alliance Contracting’ by STRACON to the Latin mining sector, a model which has since been successfully deployed for the construction and initial operation of several greenfield mines in the region.

During the past 21 years Steve has resided in Lima, Peru, enabling him to develop extensive relationships throughout the region whilst gaining invaluable experience in terms of doing business in Latin America. Steve’s ability to build strong and lasting cross-cultural relationships with employees, clients and other stakeholders is a key attribute to STRACON’s success. 

A civil engineer from New Zealand, Steve has broad experience across the mining and construction sectors. Prior to his arrival in Latin America, Steve held engineering and project management roles from a young age, on infrastructure and mining projects located in New Zealand, Australia, Indonesia and the Republic of Georgia. Steve has held non-executive directorships with both private and publicly traded companies.
